Contribution Fee for the Boys' Historical Clothing Web Site: Student and Short-term Researcher Access

Figure 1.--

We receive numerous requests from both students and parents helping their children with a wide range of school projects and researchers who just want to access a small section of HBC. Often these requests involve use of HBC to look up a very specific topic for a short period. Sometimes mothers and theatrical costume makers need to see the images to make costumes. Subscribers can look at large numbers of historical images from around the world to help prepare a costume. We like to assist with educational projects. Thus we offer a trial HBC access for only $10 monthly. This will allow time to research a school assignment or specific historical or fashion question. We would like to offer free access here, but the costs of operating a website just do not make this possible.

Student Access

HBC offers a limited 1-month access to HBC for students. This only costs $10. This will allow time to research a school assignment or to look at large numbers of historical images from around the world to help prepare a costume. We would like to offer free access here, but the costs of operating a website just do not make this possible. Students and parents, of course, have the option to contribute material for complimentary access.

Short-term Research

HBC also offers a 1-month access to researchers who just wabnt to access one section of HBC or a very specufic topic that will only require short-term access. This option has proven useful to costume designers, fashion and historical university researchers, fiction authors, local and family historians, photographic analysts, and many other researchers around the world.

Question Submission

One of the bebnefits of subscribing to HBC is the ability to pose questions and discuss issues with out HBC community which includes people knowledgeable about various issues in many different countries. We can help you navigate HBC as well as discuss your research plan abd preliminary conclusions with you.

Here our interest is two fold. First it helps us expand our historical coverage. Second it provides interesting insites on how ypoung people view fashion and historical issues. If this is of interest to you, you will first need to get your parents or guardian's permission. You then can sunbit your paper in electronic format to HBC by E-Mail. Please run a spell check before doing so. If you are submitting a paper in a language other than English, it would be helpful to include an English translation--although this is not required. Please include your name and grade level. We will post your paper with your name and grade level as the author. Optionally you can add the name of your school. For security reasons, if you are a primary or secondary student we are only able to use your first name. We will be pleased, however, when you reach your 18th birthday to add your last name. We will post your full name if you are a university student.
