Bosnia and Herzegovina: Unidentified Boys

Figure 1.--Here we see the children of an unidentified Bosnian family, pobbly in the 1930s. They are wearing suits and other dress-up outfits.

I thought it was worth noting that the image has a lot to it. First the different jackets or sweaters show age grading: The two older boys where jackets with lapels. The boy on the chair wears a jacket without a lapel and the (Youngest not certain he is the youngest) youngest boy wears a sweater vest. Also note that the three boys with jackets wear them with a suit. Where the one with a sweater obviously does not wear a suit. Also note the hosiery of the three boys we can see are different. The oldest wears very heavy knit knee socks (I almost want to say they were hand knit but not certain). The next one wears long white stockings. And the boy in the sweater vest wears anklets. All three boys wear 't' strap shoes. The two older boys in suits may also have ties on or the placket is such that it seems to hide buttons. It is hard to tell. The Haircuts are also interesting. If I had to guess the three boys in suits seem to have very similar haircuts while the boy in the sweater vest has a different style haircut. I almost want to say that the three boys in suits are brothers while the other boy is a friend or cousin. I am uncertain.
