German Family Photograph Album: NAZI School Ceremony (1934?)

Figure 1.-- There is a public scene in the album. We think the photograph was taken at the secondary school because so many students are participating. It is some kind of NAZI celebrtion. There are large NAZI banners flying. The photograph is undated. It would have been taken in 1933 or later. Its not the NAZI takeover which occurred in January. Perhaps it is Hitler's birthday. We see a Storm Trooper (SA) unit and many of the students, most of which are giving the NAZI salute which leads us to believe it might be 1934 or 35. Put the cursor on the image to see more of the scene. Girls

There is a public scene in the album. We think the photograph was taken at the secondary school because so many students are participating. It is some kind of NAZI celebrtion. While we see what looks to be the school drawn up around a central location, we do not know what is happening on the stage or platform the boys are facing and saluting. We can see a ladder and wat looks like a SA man on it. But we do not know what the occassion was. There are large NAZI banners flying. The photograph is undated. It would have been taken in 1933 or later. Its not the NAZI takeover which occurred in January. Perhaps it is Hitler's birthday. We see a Storm Trooper (SA) unit. Many of the students, but not all, are giving the NAZI salute. The fact that a number of boys are not saluting leads us to believe it might be 1933 or 34. We are not sure what school this was, but it was probably located in Chemnitz, a town in Saxony. We are unsure about the present of the SA unit here. Could this be made up of the older boys at the school? I'm unsure about age restictions for the SA. Amd they may have been different in the early years of the NAZI regime when the Hitler Youth was just beginning to expand. Or possibly it was a local unit of the SA present for the occassion.
