German Boys' Clothes: Unknown Boy--War Injury

Figure 1.--The boy was apparently wounded during in the World War II. We are not sure if he ever actually entered the German Army or was still in the RAD. Some RAD units served with the military or performed combat duties. Click on the image for more information about the RAD.

The boy was apparently wounded during in the World War II. We are not sure if he ever actually entered the German Army. Some RAD units served with the military or performed combat duties or other dangerous assignments. Others were used fighting fires or on anti-aircraft defenses. So it is possible that he was wounded while still in the RAD. It looks like he was seriously wounded, but recovering nicely. This was the last image of him. We have no idea what happened after he recovered from the injury.
