Most of the photographs of Ian in the album are school photographs. Ian anf his brother Greville were close in age and attended the samne schoos. There are many full page photos of Ian and Greville at their schools. Their prep school was St. Peter's Court. We see Ian at St. Peter's in a class portrait on the previous page. He would have been about 12 years old. Notice the caps with circles and the rather baggy long pants suits. We know very little about St. Peter's Court. It is no longer an active school. We are not sure where it was located, but it would have been a boarding school for boys about 8-13 years old, preparing them for their public school, in this case Eton. We see Ian participating in a school play at St. Peters. As it was an all-boys school, the boys playd both boys' and girl's roles. We do not know the name of the play, but the costumes make it plain that it was about the Netherlands (figure 1).
