New Zealand Schools E-Book: Contributions

Figure 1.--Most New Zealand secondary schools are coeducational, but there are boys and girls schools in most large cities. These boys are watching a practice. One wears the every-day uniform at this school, the other the school blazer which is worn for formal occasiions.

Apertutres Press welcomes contributions from New Zealand on our schools book. We were able to visit only a small proportion of the schools in New Zealand. We did visit over 100 schools covering a wide cross section of New Zealand eduvation. That, however, only scratches the surface. If you would like to contribute material about your school or your school experience, we incourage you to do so. Contrubutions can be photographs, drawings, essays, or just little written snipets--what ever you may care to contribute.

Photographs

Apertures Press already has an extensive collection of photographs on New Zealand schools. We welcome, however, any photographs you may wish to contribute. We are especially interested in historic photographs. Most of our photographs were taken in the 1980s and early 90s. We would like to add some older photographs to illustrate the historical section of the book. We also would be interested in photographs from schools that we have not visited. Another topic we would like to add or special events such as ANZAC day or calf day in rural schools. These are photographs we would especially like to acquire, but if you have a photograph on some other aspect of New Zealand schools, feel free to send it along, we can probably find a spot for it in our E-Book.

Drawings

We are including some representative drawings on school themes from students. This does not mean just the sophisticated art work of the senior students. We are including drawings to illustrate representative work from all academic levels from day school to high school.

School Essays

We are interested in short essays you may choose to write about your school experience. This does not mean just current students. We are also intersted in eperiences our older readers can recall about their school days. In addition, we would love to hear some of the experiences teachers can recount. These should be fairly short 1 or 2 page accounts.

Written Snippets

We are including short snippets from the children's work as well as quotes from our conversations as we visited. Some schools have provided poems which are often quite charming. If you have any short snippets to send along, we would love to hear from you.
