Photo Essays: Free Time--Importance

Figure 1.--Boys at boarding schools look forward eagerly to their free time. These boys are going to sail their boat in a pool in the garden.

Life at British prep schools tends to be very structured. With classess, games (sports), meals, rest time, musical instrument practive prep, and other scheduled activities, the children do not have a lot of free time. Thus for many their free time is very precious. Some children like the opottunity to quietly persue individual activities. Other children use the time to persue activities with their mates (friends). Often this is the children's favorite time of the day.
