Princess Mary's Children: Younger Boy Outfits--Button-on Suits

Figure 1.--Here we see George and Gerald enjoying golfish. George wears a button-on suit with a ruffled collar. Herald appears to be wearing a dress with a Peter Pan collar. This photograph would have been taken about 1925.

We notice the boys wearing button-on outfits. These were colored outfits, although we unfortunately can not tell what the color was. They look to be mostly pastel colors. They had various collars including ruffled collars and Peter Pan collars. We notice one button-on outfit rhat looks like a one -piece garment. These outfits seem similar to the Oliver Twist suits worn by American boys. I'm not sure how common these suits were in Britain. A reader tells us that the suits in Britain were called Buster suits.
