Toin Gakuen: Orchestras --Violin Sections


Figure 1.-- Toin Gauken primnary school orchestras had violin sections. It was the only string instrument in the orchestra. There were no cgellos or bases, only violins. This presumably reflkects the instrumental instruction available at the school. All of the rchestras we have been able to find had a substantial violin sections. These of course were some of the children with real musical talent. We are guessing that these children had been taking violin lessons for some time, but we have no details.
