Boys' Hair Bows: Twin Side Bows

Figure 1.--This trick photograph shows both the front and back of a boy wearing hair bows. He wears the relatively rare twin hair bows. He is an American boy who was photographed in the 1890s.

Most of the portraits available of boys with hair bows were taken from the front as a normal portrait would be taken. Thus it is not always apparent how the hair was done at the back. I have so few back views that I am not yet certain how the hair was normally done at the back when hair bows were used. I will comment in more details when I obtain more images and am able to study this.
