Hair Bows for Boys: Medium Colors


Figure 1.--This Philadelphia boy looks to be about 5-6 years old. The wears a karge collar bow as well as a hair bow with his Fauntleroy suit. The image is undated but HNC estimates that it was taken in the 1880s.

We have also noted some medium colored hair bows. We do not know, however, just what colors were involved. Unfortunately the black and white photography offers few clues. More information is avilable on the color of girls' hair bows which may offer some clues. Of course they may have been some gender diferentiation.
