Belgium SBPB Boy Scout Uniforms

The Federation Catholic Scouts (SBPB) is one of Several Belgian Scout associations.

Historical Background

The origin of scouting goes up at the beginning of the 20 th Century when Lord Baden-Powell in England proposed to young people coming from all the social backgrounds of the activities and a life in group around an idea which remains the point of anchoring of scouting : " Ask the servant boy " (Request its opinion with the boy).

Scouting has been established in Belgium for 85 years and developed in several federations of which the Federation of Catholic Scouts which counts nearly 50 000 members in communities Frenchwoman and German-speaking. It is the largest organization of French-speaking youth.

Objective

The objective of the movement is to educate all the person of the young person and this step is based on certain privileged means which are proposed with all the age brackets :
Education: Education by the action one learns while acting, within the framework of activities centered on the interest of the young people (the project).
Group: Life in small group : where one more easily finds the occasion to affirm oneself, to take part, to take responsabilities.
Personal progression : each young A the occasion to decide and evaluate its personal progression through various fields (physics, spiritual, technical, life in group...)
Engagement: the young person engages at the time of a promise in front of the group and compared to values of life.
Nature: Life in the open air, it is the privileged framework of complete and harmonious development.

Structure

Scouting is proposed to the children, to boys and girls, as from 6 years and divides themselves into various " branches " : baladins: The baladins (wandering entertainers), from 6 to 8 years form " ribambelle " and wear the blue sweater.
Wolf Cubs: The wolf cubs, from 8 to 12 years form a "pack " with sizaines and wear a green sweater.
Scouts: Scouts from 12 to 16 years form a troop made up of " patrols " and wear a blue shirt.
Pioneers--scouts aînés : The elder pioneers scouts from 16 to 18 years form a station. One recognizes them with their red shirt.
Routiers: The young people from 18 to 25 years can be routiers

These young people are framed by some 8 000 voluntary organizers which prepare and animate the activities the WE and during the 10 or 15 days of camp of summer and with which one proposes a complete training program.

The Federation of Scouts Catholiques is a federation of 470 units, established at the local level. The scarf marks the membership of scouting, its color is specific to each unit.
