Marianum Fulda School


Figure 2.--Boys at Marianum Fulda worn their own clothes to school. There was no uniform. Thus this is a photograph provides a view of what German boys were wearing in 1969.

Marianum is a private Catholic school in Fulda with a 6-form high school and Gymnasium upper level. The school was founded in 1951 by the Mariaists. The Mariaists made in particular it according to its founding rule believe that their duty to educate young people in the Christian spirit and under special protection of St. Mary. They pursue this principle around the whole world thfough a large nimber of schools. Most of the instructors today are laymen. The Marianum Fulda is the only Mariaists in Germany. HBC thought that the original Knabenchor Marianum Fulda was based on the school uniform. Photographs from the school in the 1960s, hoever, show that the school did not have a uniform requirement.
