Pfälzer Weinkehlchen: Modern Costumes


Figure 1.-- This photograph of some of the Pfälzer Weinkehlchen chorister was taken in 2003. It shows the red vests and blue dresses. Note how the boys wear their scarves differently than in the earlier photographs.

There has been little change over time. The boys stopped wearing neatly tied bows, but continued to wear black scarves. Here you can see the way the boy now wear their scarves. Here they much smaller and worn more like string ties. I'm not sure when this change was made. The Choir changed to long black pants for the boys, I think in the 1980s. The girls now wear the same style of blue dresses, but with longer hems. Notice the black lacing on the girls' dresses. The modern color photograph is especially helpful in understanding the colors in the black and white photographs.
