Solvguttene Guttekor

The Solvguttene Guttekor or Silver Boys Choir is located in Oslo. This choir was founded 1940. HBC is not sure if this was before or after the German invasion. The Choir was founded by Torstein Grythe, a well known and experienced choir conductor. The Choir is made up of about 60 boys and 24 men. In Norway every child knows the Silver boys whose voices can be heard in many occasions such as National Nowegian Day, Christmas concerts, an appearances at the royal court. They participated as well at the winter Olympic games of Lillehammer and take frequently part in symphonic concerts, operas and recitals in churches. The choir has toured in many European countries as well as in the United States. The boys had the privilege to sing in 1969 at the gala concert of Westminster Abbey; In 1971 they won first price at BBC contest "Let the people sing" in London.
