Figure 1.--This boy wears a particularly formal First Communion outfit. We have seen similar outfits for French First Communions. It might have been called an Eton suit, a small black jacket and lighter colored pants. The formal collar looks like a detachable collar. White it is not an Eton collar with points, it is similar, albeit rounded collar. Note the small white bowtie. The outfit includes an elaborate lace jabot. That is something we have not seen in other countries. There are also lacy cuffs and elaborate gloves. |
