Artists Illustrating Boys' Fashions: A. Jirasek (Austria, 1863- )

Figure 1.-- A. Jirasek was an Austrian painter best known for landsacpes and genre paitings. We note one portrait he painted of a boys with bangs and a ruffled collar. The portrait is undated, but looks to have been painted about the turn of the 20th century.

A. Jirasek was an Austrian painter best known for landsacpes and genre paitings. He was a student of Anton Schrödl. We know little more about him. We note one portrait he painted of a boys with bangs and a ruffled collar. The portrait is undated, but looks to have been painted about the turn of the 20th century. As Jirasek was an Austrian painter, presumably the boy is Austrian. He has a ruffled white collar with matching sleeve wrist ruffles. Few details can be made out on the dark out fit that the boy is wearing, but we note some kind of high belt with buttons.
