His work was used to decorate public spaces, ncluding decorive pannels. He is best known for his genre painting. We have not fond much inormation on him. The one work we note is 'Le Devoir" literaly meaning 'The duty' The English translation is usully given as Homework or A Mother Helps Children Do Their Homework. We see a a mother attentively reading from a book while helping her two young sons with their home work studies and writing at a cluttered wooden desk. The boys are wearing their school smocks. For some reason she has dressed them differently. They look to be about 8-11 yars old. Both boys are wearing school smocks and bows, but on has a large white collar. It is beautifully pained, but for some reason we can not find many of his works. We do boy know whothe boys are, perhaps he hss painted his own family. Jamet was a member of the French Artists' Society, he won numerous prizes in various exhibitions. Jamet was the father of Pierre Jamet (1893–1991) and the grandfather of Marie-Claire Jamet (born 1933), both internationally renowned harpists.
