Polyklitos Reggas painted the Ioannis Eskiadis family in 1957 providing a view of a prosperous post-World War II Greek family. Note that the two brothers are dressed
identically. Greek mothers like mothers in other countries liked to dress children close in age identiclly as this mother has done. The boys wear matching yellow sweaters and blue short pants. Note that the shorts are cuffed. One boy holds a toy and the other a
book. Probably the boy with the toy who looks younger hasn't started school yet, hense he holds a toy instead of a book. The boys have short hair cuts, but nothing like the severe hair cuts we note as late as the 1940s. HBC has been unable to find any
information on the artist.
