This French family scene shows the the Marquise de Peze and the Marquise de Rouget
with her two children. We have no information on the family at this time. It was painted in Paris during 1787. This is a charming family scene showing how a prosperous aristocratic family in France dressed before the Revolution. The boy wears a maroon long pants skeleton suit with a plain open collar. Note the colorful clothes, both his maroon skeleton suits as well as the brightly colored dresses. His hair is worn long, but uncurled. I'm not sure if the younger child is a boy or girl.
