Figure 1.-- This studio portrait was done by Rossiter, St. Ansgar, Iowa about 1910. It seems a rather bare-bones studio. The boy is identified as Larry Allen. Larry looks about 13 years old. He wears a knickers suit with a rather slender dark tie. I'm not sure about the colors. He wears his knickers with long black stockings and rather old-fashioned shoe. He is pictured with the family dog.

Larry Allen (United States, about 1910)

This studio portrait was done by Rossiter, St. Ansgar, Iowa about 1910. It is difficult to date the image precisely. The knickers suggest the very late 1900s or 1910s. We no longer see boys this age commonly wearing knee pants in the 1910s. Note that he has button rather than laceup shoes. This would seem to make the 1900s more likely. Thus we would guess that the portrait was taken some time between 1905-10. It seems a rather bare-bones studio. The boy is identified as Larry Allen. Larry looks about 13 years old. He wears a fairly small collar which we can't make out much detail. He has a rather narrow neck tie. It s a dark tie, I think with a pattern. His suit was done with knickers. I'm not sure about the colors. He wears his knickers with long black stockings and rather old-fashioned shoe. He is pictured with the family dog.
