Dwight and Stewart Hill (United States, about 1930)

Figure 1.--Here we have Dwight and Stewart Hill, two brothers, both obviously keen on Scuting.

I do not know when this photo was taken or precisely where. It is of two brothers, one in his Boy Scout uniform and he is proudly holding his hat. The boys are standing on a hill overlooking some sort of factory. I was told that it looked like the tannery factory in Hartland, Maine but I do not know. It was clearly taken in a northern state and as the item was being sold in Maine, that is tghe most likely location. On the back it has "For grammie Cat" Dwight Hill and Stewart Hill. On the back of the photo there is the word VELOX printed right in to paper. This may help date it. I think the early 30s is more likely than the 20s, because the younger boys is wearing kneesocks rather than long stockings. Also notice the way he is standing, with his arms and hands at attention. He is clearly eager to be a Scout. I think he will surely join the Cubs, but might not be quite old enough yet.
