Waldo Hunt Hurst (United States, about 1900)

Figure 1.--The studio cabinet card studio portrait here shows Waldo Hunt Hurst holding a palette and painting a picture. This not a studio prop we ordinarily see so perhaps Waldo had artistgic talents and he brought his art materials with him to the studio so he could pose with them. We are not sure about this. While waldo is idenifed on the back, the portrait is no dated. We would guess it was taken at the turn-of-the 20th century, either the late-1890s or the early-1900s.

Waldo looks to be about 10-11 years old. He wears a dark knee pants sailor suit with a 'V' white collar and back flap. The white dickie has an embroidered crest, but we can not make it out. The suit is prrobably dark blue. He wears the standard black long stockings and high-top shoes. His hair is carefuly parted near, but not at the center. He has longish hair, but not shoulder-length ringlets.
