We know very little about this image. The cabinet card shows a a boy in a velvet kneepants suit that has piping and with long ringlet curls. His suit is difficult to assess because it is so dark. He wears a cutaway jacket with matching vest and keepants. His floppy bow looks to be in a plaid pattern. He also wears long black stockings. He was photographed by A. W. Judd, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jidd had his cabinent cards done with a thin gold border. The boy's name was Willie Morrison, identified in pencil on the reverse. Willie looks to be about 5 years old. The portrait is not dated. It looks to us as if it was taken in the early 1880s. It is an interesting image in that it is a side shot and show how ringlet curls were handled at the back. We note a right part. There could be a natching left part. There are no front bangs.
