He has a small white collar and a small bow. The suit has knee pants worn with dark long stockings. Notice the soft hat with a turned up brim. These were very popular, we see quite a few boys wearing them. The portrait is undated and we are unsure how to date it. We believe it was taken in the 1880s, but we are not at all sure. Perhaps readers will have some thoughts.
