Clarence Smith here wears a white tunic and black belt. It looks like a sailor-dtyled tunic, but it is difficult to make out the details. This was a popular style for boys at the time. He has white long stockings to match his white tunic suit. Clarence also has shoulder-length ringlet curls. This was a style that was declining in popularity. He is holding a ball, a studio prop. Clarence looks to be about 3-4 years old. We do not know who the photographer was, but we know Clarence was from McKeesport, Pennsylvania. And the portrait was apparently taken in 1909. His parents were Edward and Grace Smith.
