The Bengal economy is still largely agricultural. And thus farm animals are important in the lives of children. Affording pets is aporoblem, but the children do get involved with farm animals. Many farmers have mild mannered water bufalos which children can play with in the water (figure 1). Bangladesh is a low-lying country.
