John CAPPER was born before 1793. He was baptised 28-Oct-1836, Hackney, Middx., Old Gravel Pit Indep. He married 3-Mar-1814, in London, Middx., Tottenham, Mary HENBEST who was born before 1794 who was a housewife. They had seven children.
Walter CAPPER was born 20-Jan-1815, London, Middx., baptised 28-Oct-1836, Hackney, Middx., Old Gravel Pit Indep. His occupation was a general draper. He married 20-Jun-1839, in Radley, Berks., St. James, Eliza KENT who was born about 1813, Abingdon, Berks., (daughter of Benjamin KENT and Mary "Mary" occupation Housewife). The couple in 1881 employed a staff of two hundred.
They had one child, Mary Ella CAPPER who was born about 1851. It is Mary Ella's photograph album that a HBC contributor has provided us. It provides images of her and her contempraries.
Anne CAPPER was born 16-Jan-1817, Camberwell, Surrey. She was baptised 28-Oct-1836, Hackney, Middx., Old Gravel Pit Indep. Her occupation was housewife. She married Sept. Qtr. 1850, in Hackney, Middx., John HARDCASTLE. He was born about 1821, Abingdon, Berks., baptised 31-Aug-1828, Abingdon, Lower Meeting House, Ock St., (son of William HARDCASTLE and Maria EDGINGTON. His occupation was merchant. They had five children. 1) Bertha Maria HARDCASTLE was born June Qtr. 1852, Tulse Hill, Norwood, Surrey.
2) Wilfred John HARDCASTLE was born about 1853, Tulse Hill, Norwood, Surrey, occupation Architect & Surveyor. He married December Qtr. 1895, in Lewisham, Kent, Mary Theodora MATTHEWS born about 1867, Sutton, Surrey, (daughter of Marmaduke MATTHEWS and unknownxe woman who was a housewife.
3) Basil William HARDCASTLE born about 1854,Tulse Hill, Norwood, Surrey, occupation Accountant, married Sept. Qtr. 1894, Emily LEExe "LEE:Emily", born abt 1861, Rock Ferry, Ches., occupation Housewife. Their child Phoebe Mabel HARDCASTLExe "HARDCASTLE:Phoebe Mabel" born March Qtr. 1900, Birchington, Kent. 4) Rosa HARDCASTLE born about 1855, Tulse Hill, Norwood, Surrey. Her occupation was nurse. 5) Norman Capper HARDCASTLE born March Qtr. 1859, Surrey.
Rebecca CAPPER was born 27-Jul-1818, London, Middx., baptised 28-Oct-1836, Hackney, Middx., Old Gravel Pit Indep.
Jasper John CAPPER was born 6-Jan-1820, Stoke Newington, Middx., baptised 28-Oct-1836, Hackney, Middx., Old Gravel Pit Indep. He married (1) 17-Oct-1854, Harriet Millington JACKSON born abt 1827, occupation Housewife. She died June Qtr. 1871, London, Middx. Jasper then married 5-Dec-1872, in Govan, Lanark., Scotland, Anna Coventry BLYTH born about 1841, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland, occupation Housewife.
Areadertells us that for a time he was a partner in an engineering business in Loughborough, Leics. [Wear]
Jasper died 1895. Children by Harriet Millington JACKSON: 1) David Sing CAPPER born June Qtr. 1864, Middx., occupation University Professor, married Sept. Qtr. 1893, in St. Leonard's-on-Sea, Sussex, Lillian Grace SHAWxe "SHAW:Lillian Grace", born Dec. Qtr. 1865, St. Leonard's-on-Sea, Sussex, occupation Housewife. David died 12-Feb-1926, Hampstead, Middx. M.A., M.Inst.C.E., M.I.Mech.E. Professor of Engineering, University of London, King's College. Their son was Derrick Jasper CAPPER born June Qtr. 1895, Chiswick, Middx.
