Here we see three of the boys in 1958 with the family car on a Sunday outing. I think family outings after church on Sunday were very common in France at the time. The boys here to look to be in a car park at some sort of senic lookout. Perhaps the fourth brother or father took the snapdhot. I do not know if this is still common. I do know that church attendance is much less common. The boys are wearing suits and blazers so almost surely this is a Sunday drive after church. As is obvious fom the other photographs, they are a good Catholic family. All but the oldest boy are still wearing short pants.
A French reader tells us, "This car is a " Citroën Traction "and according its number plate, the familly lived in Nantes ( French Atlantic coat ). It is an industrial region. The beaches are coats are very nice. This car was quite expensive in this time so I think you are right that the family was affluent."
