America before the automobile had becomes the world's greatest industrial power. Henty Fird nd the Model-T Ford resulted in American eclipsing all other industrial powers. At the time of Wotrld War II, most of the cars and trucks buit in the world were built in America. After the War this continued and we massive huge highway behemoths dripping with chrome, like the 1952 Buick Rodmaster wesee on the prvious page taken on taken in Varazze, a tourist resort near Genoa, on May 6, 1955. Also interesting is what wa going on in the cafe in the background. This photo here was taken on the same day of the previous one with the Buick Roadmaster. You can see the same child. In the previous photo you can see the sign of a cafe bar. This photo could be taken in the bar backyard. The Italian Economic Miracle was just beginning. You can see a bike that still was a common vehicle. This bicycle has a little motor added. The Vespa of course would be a part of yhe Italian Economic Miracle. Still few people had a car, especially in a little town. Many children were sdtill barefoot, although it was no longer virtually inversal in tyhe villages and pooer communities. A man lets a boy taste the wine. Nowadays that is seen as inappropriate, but not at the time.
