We do not yet have much chronolgical information on Guatemala. Out Guatelan information is very limited. Guatemala is a small, relatively poor Central American country. Thus thee is only a smll domestic photograohic record to assess. This is a problem we face in covering the many small countries round the world. This combined with the fact for what eve reason has not attraced much readrship in Latin America, except for Argentina. Here we see a photograph American tourists took in 1937. It look like children are dressed up for some knd of ethnic performance (figure 1).
