Figure 1.--Here we see an unidentified group during the 1930s. The dealer though it was a park. We are not sure about that. But it looks like some kind of family reunion to us. It looks to be a chilly day, but the foilage suggest it was during the summer. Put your cursor on the image to see the rest of the group. There is writing on the back of the photograph which no doubt proivides details, but as it is in Estonian, we have no idea what it says.

We notice a number of outings in which Estonian children participate. This incluses both small groups and larger mostly family groups. This includes urban parts as well as country outings. We do not yet know anything about Estonian parks. This often meant visits to the grand parents. Some photigraphs we have found look to us like family reunions, but unless there is some writing on the back this is difficult to determine. A problem with outings is transport. Few Estonian families had cars, at least until the country was able to exit the Soviet Union (1991). Thus it was difficult to get out into the country. Basically people would take trains to poular spots and then catch busses to go further into the country. There they would be on foot from there.
