Polish Families: The Admor Family (1935)

Figure 1.--This family snapshot shows the Admor family in 1935. They were an urban Jewish family, although the city where they lived is not known. Given the style of their house, we would guess somewhere in western Poland. They appear to be a comfortable middle-class family The family patriarch is a rabbi. Rabbi Admor's grandson is included in the photograph. He looks to be about 8-9 years old and seems to be wearing is school clothes. Polish school boys before the War often wore German-style school caps. Also notice the light-colord long stockings even though it appeas to be a warm day.

We have been unable to find any detils about the family. As with most Polish Jews, they were unlikely to have survived the Holocaust. Also notice the light-colord long stockings even though it appears to be a warm day. Interestingly except for the boys' clothes, this snap shot easiky could have bee taken in the United States.
