We see the Strange family in Sebastian County, Arkansas. The parents have six chikdren, all of who look younger than 10 years of age. We believe this is a farm family photographed by an itenerate photographer. It looks like the chairs have been brought out from the house and set in the sun for a good image. Father wears a dark suit and sports a glorious handle-bar mustache. Mother has a voluminous white blouse. The girls wear white dresses. Notice how the oldest girl has shoes and long black stockings. The boys have blouses with wide fancy collars. The boys all wear knee pants. Notice how almost all of the children are barefoot even for this formal portrait. Also notice all the white clothing. This was in part because white clothing is easier to wash than colored clothing and with six kids, laundry day mist have been an undertaking. .
