United States Boys' Clothes: Individual Experiences (about 1895)

Figure 1.--The boy wears a large fancy hat with a wide brim, but not a sailor hat. It looks to be some kind of fuzzy cap. He looks to be about 4 years old. Actually you can not tell if he is wearing a Fauntleroy suit with kneepants or perhaps a kilt skirt as was common in the 1890s.

This boy after being breached wore Fauntleroy suits . As was common in the 1890s, the boy after breaching wore a Little Lord Fauntleroy suit. Ge has a classic suit wih a small cut away to show off his blouse. He wears a large bow which looks to be black. He also has a large collar done with eyelet lace. There is matching cuff trim. He wears a large fancy hat with a wide brim, but not a sailor hat. It looks to be some kind of fuzzy cap. He looks to be about 4 years old. Actually you can not tell if he is wearing a Fauntleroy suit with kneepants or perhaps a kilt skirt as was common in the 1890s. His hair is curly, but not done in ringlets. This portrait was probably taken about 1895.
