My favourite subjects are English and History; they are great. I am four feet eight in height. I am in Blue III (that is my form). A am not very good at Netball, but I like it very much. I like mystery stories and exciting ones. I like reading books. My favourite television programme is Blue Peter. People say I am big for my agw some people are amazed that I am only eight. I was born on 12th February 1980. I have a brother called James. My Mummy is called Mary and my father is called Peter. Daddy is a solicitor in Norwich; he used to be a teacher. We have a dog and cat. My dog is called Shep and my vat is called Bessy, but we call her Pussy instead. My brother is six years oldand his birthday is on 24th April. He is all right, but sometimes he is horrid! .... We sometimes go on our bikes to the Broads and feed the ducks; it is great fun. ....

My Sister

My sister is called Kathryn Hine. She is a happy girl, always laughing and playing. She has black, silky hair and brown eyes. She as nine last week (March 1980) and for a big present she had her very own disco: it was great! She is about three foot ten and weighs about three stone six.

On a Monday she goes skating and has passed her grade five test. Her best friend, Moya Hosty, goes with her to keep her company. On a Wednesday evening after school she goes to Brownies, and is at present learning signalling with flags. She also has to attend church the first Sunday of each month, for the family service.

On Fridays she has a music lesson with Mrs. Vlies, but she does not like doing the practice during the week. At Whit, the family go down to Abersoch where we stay in our chalet, but in the morning, if it is a nice day, we go down to the beach. Kathryn is vey good at digging holes in the sand and making up games to play with our cousins. She is a great sister and I like her.

Nicholas Hine, Form VM, The Wheasheaf (Pownall Hall), 1980.
