British Preparatory Schools Photo Essays: Activities--Drama Club

Figure 1.--.

Some schools have a drama club. I'm not sure how common this activity was. They commonly work on productions presented at school, such as drama nights where the various forms also make productions.

Drama Evening

.... The Drama Club acted the play, 'Olaf and the Ogre!' Davina Duckworth-Chad was brilliant as the spoilt Miranda who wanted a husband, and SuziLoades had a wonderful part as a punk crow. The whole play was very good. ....

Drama

Following the fashion set the previous year, the Team Drama Festival, which took place at the end of the Autumn term, was a non competitive event, and two very pleasant and varied evenings' entertainment were enjoyed by actors and audiences alike. The prigramme was:

A team: The True Story of Good King Wenceslas

B team: Love in theLaundry

C team: Post early for Christmas

D team: Gunfight at Cripple Creek

Particularly good performances were given by Guy Henriques. Philip Smith, George Eykyn, Alexander Freemn, Axel Brostrom, Kent Davis, Nicholas Oliver, Alistair Deeble, Nicholas Long, Anthony Siddle and David Colbourne. A certain Philip Graham, making an unannounced stage debut, revealed hitherto unsuspected talents!
