Several schools we visited had impressive model railtoad sets. Not only were the layouts often well developed, but some of the systems were set up to issue tickets to visitors. The children were often quite enthusiastic. Britain unlike America still has a major passenger rail system--British Rail. Most children are quite accustomed to useing the railroad. In fact some children even come to school on the train. The best layouts of course are at schools when a staff member is a keen model railroader.
Our layout is now set up in the wooden hut beside the old tennis court. We are most grateful to Bob Law, who has spent many hours helping with the reconstruction, and who took charge during the Summer Term. Mr. Bill King helped us in the early stages fixing the boards on which the tracks are laid. On Open Day we had the railway on show, thanks to Mr Law and J. Armitage, M. Brunell, A Turner, R. Latham and A. Scot-Gall. Other boys were members of the club during the winter.

Our four engines are still in good order, but we have experienced some difficulty in keeping the track clear of dust, sand and various imperfections: it has to be stressed that constant attention is necessary to achieve this, and it is no excuse that the Model Room is used for other activities. Among the boys who helped to run the trains were More and Morton A. while noticeable help was often given by Julian Thomas, Norris, Deeble and others. Mr. and Mrs. Mann twice kindly invited all the members to their house to see and enjoy their splendid lay-out of trains; and again we thank them very much It is hoped to take some boys to see an outstanding exhibition to be held in Rodborough on Septemver 30th.
