British Preparatory Schools Photo Essays: Free Time--Toys

Figure 1.--.

The children for the most part leave their toys at home. They do bring trunks and some favorite toys. Rules here vary from school to school. The favorite toys we saw besides the stuffed animsals on dormitory beds were transformes. We also began to see some simple electonic games.

The Surprise Parcel

One day the red van came,
To my house
nd I saw a mouse,
And it ean down the lane.

The postman gave me a letter,
I found a game
It was a digital game,
Nothing could have been better.

It tells the time of day,
It has a boat
And it can float
Upon the sea away.

Charles MacNicol, 8 years, 2 months, Surge (Beeston Hall), Autumn 1988.
