Printed Mail order and store catlogs were commin in the 20th centiry. By the titn of the century both drawings and photograohs could be printed in detail thus providing detailed representation of popular styles. This all changed in the 21st century. The internet changed everything and very quickly. The internet presented a more cost-effective method oo offering fashions to the public. This rather than printed catalogs we have internet sites of major retailers as wll as mamy small scale retailers, including fashionanle but expensive botiuque offerings, mostly for younger boys andc special events like weddings.

The 2000s

Catalogs in the 21st century shidted to the internet and on-line presentations. This included both regular clothing and school uniforms. We note the trend toward ungormal outfits. Many chools comtinued to require iniforms. English readers report major chain retailers like British Home Stores (BHS) and Marks and Spensers (M&S) handling traditional grey shool shorts in sizes up to 13 and 14 years, respectively. Another Engliosh source points out, however, that this does not mean that 13-14 year olds commonly wear traditional grey shorts to school. He writes, "Quite simply boys are getting bigger and probably sizes are getting smaller. There are not many 14 year olds who would actually fit into a pair of M&S age 14 school shorts. At in case, it is now for even 11 year olds to wear school shorts in England." HBC believes another factor is that British boys are becoming stouter and that many younger boys now require larger waist sizes. We note some botique clothiers offered very expensiv outfits for younger boys.
