Here we see an illustration for children's fashions from a 1897 edition of Le Monde. It shows a boys kneepants suit and little girl's dress. It does not look like an advertisement to us, but rather a fashion article. Unfortunately we do not have the text which presumably describes the fashions illustrated in the article. The boy is shown with a double-breasted kneepants suit which buttons at the collar, but has lapels. It is done with velvet trim. The fancy, long dress is done with baloon sleeves.
