The Pretenders: The Plot

Figure 1.--Here is an illustration by Harold Earnshaw showing a "mix up" in the Den. Apparently an older boy has intruded in the younger boy's form room. The younger boys here all wear the Eton suit uniform.

We do not yet know the plot. The book is narated by a boy nammed Durrant. The illustrations give us some idea as to the events in the book. There are school scenes which give a wonderful feel for a British private school in the early 20th century. There is also the question of a missing Eton collar. Another scene shows a mix up in "the Den" which looks to be a form room. Apparently an older boy has intruced in the younger boys' santuary, but I'm bit sure about the actual turn of affairs.
