Costumes of Literary English Characters: Jennings Illustrations--Policy

Figure 1.--This is the back cover of the 1967 edition of "Jennings' Little Hut". The style suggests it was also the cover used in 1951. There were no inside illustrations. I'm not sure who the illustrator was.

We are not positive just what the policy toward illustrating the Jennings books were. The Just William books had extensive inside illustrations. Most of the Jennings illustrations with which we are familar, however, are cover illustrations. We do not have any first editions so we are not sure if there were originally inside illustrations. One of the first Jennings books was Jennings' Little Hut (1951). We are not sure how it was illustrated. We do have the 1967 reprint and there are no inside illustrations, only an illustrated cover jacket. I'm not sure who the illustrator was.
