Little Lord Fauntleroy: German Edition

Figure 1.--This is a German edition. I do not know the date of publication, but it looks realtively recent. Nor do we know the name of the llustrator who did the charming cover and several illustrations in the text.

It is interesting after well over a century, new editions of Little Lord Fauntleroy continue to appear, not only in America, but throughout Europe as well. This is a German edition. This edition was published in 1965 by the Publishing house of Droemersche Verlagsanstalt, Nachfolger Knaur Verlag. The charming illustrations are by Martin and Ruth Koser-Michaels. This married team are illustrators I am unfamilar with. Not only is there the origianl cover, but there are several illustrations in the text. Note the white stockings. Cedric in the original American illustrayions was never pictured in white stockings. The German illustrator has also pictured him with much shorter hair than in the original American edition.
