Photographers: Tomaso Filippi (Italy, 1852-1948)


Figure 1.-- Tomaso Filippi was born in Venice and began working with Carlo Naya (1880). He opened his own studio, also in Venice (1895). Like Naya, Filippi took many images of Venice depicting the city and its people. One area he liked to photograph was Chioggia, a village on the side of the lagoon.

He ended his photigraphic activity (1925) and died (1948).
