Studio Cabinet Card Mount Serrated Edges: Corner Serration


Figure 1.--Rhis cabinet card portrait shows two siblings. The hand written notation on the back of the card indicates that portrait was taken at Christmas 1893. The card has gold edges with scalloped corners. The East Tawas, Michigan photographer is A. G. Emery which is in large ornate gold print on the front.

We also notice some cabinent cards with corner serration and the rest of the card with smooth edges. This seems to be less common than the cards with serration and smooh corners. The corner seratin as far as we can tellis a 1890s format, but our sample is still too limited for any definitivecdating.
