Contribution Fee for the Historical Boys' Royal Costume Web Page

Figure 1.--

We hope you will find our HBRC wesite of interest. Because of the substantial hosting fees, we need to ask your support to maintain our site. The images in particular require considerable bandwith. We have had to limit access to the images to those readers who help support HBRC. We are also very interested in any information that readers may be offer to help expand tghe information about royals we have already began to work on or additional royals we have not yet covered.

Open Access

We have tried to maintain HBRC as a largly open-access site. We want the information we have gathered to be available all over the world to as many people as needed. Unfortunately, the growing size of our site and especially the steadily increasing bandwith usage as our readership increases has made this impossible. There are substantial charges both for data storage and bandwith. Bathwith means site usage. Essentially evertime you click on a HBRC page, HBRC gets charged for bandwith usage. I know we are all used to viewing internet sites for free, but the internet is not free. For a while we used free services, but we quickly outgrew their size limits. In addition, the pop-up ads were both distracting and sometimes inappropriate. HBC is written for adults, but we know that many children and teenagers visit HBC as part of their school research assignments. Thus we do not allow any kind of outside pop-ups which are not only annoying, but sometimes inappropriate.

Annual Contribution Fee

As a result, we need to ask our readers make a small contribution to help maintain the site. The participation contribution is $10 annually. You can pay by check or use your credit card through the Paypal service.
Checks: Your check should be made out to "Apertures Press". (We accept checks in American dollars, British pounds, Euros, and New Zealand dollars.) This is a very small fee and we have purposefully set it low so that anyone interested in HBC can afford to access the site. We hope you agree that this is a small price to pay for access to the extensive HBC archive. As you probably realize, there is nothing quite like it anywhere on the internet. The contribution provides unlimited access to all of HBC, except the E-Book section.
Credit cards: You can also use your credit card to contribute to HBC. Just click on the Paypal icon here. We suggest that you also send us an e-mail to ensure that your transaction has been processed properly.

Student Access

We receive numerous requests from students and parents helping their children with a wide rnge of school projects. Often this involves use of HBC to look up a very specific topic for a short period. Sometimes mothers need to see the images to make costumes. We like to assist with educational projects. Thus we offer a limited 1-month access to HBC for only $5. This will allow time to research a school assignment or to look at large numbers of historical images from around the world to help prepare a costume. We would like to offer free access here, but the costs of operating a website just do not make this possible.
Checks: Your check should be made out to "Apertures Press". (We accept checks in American dollars, British pounds, Euros, and New Zealand dollars.)
Credit cards: You can also use your credit card to contribute to HBC. Just click on the Paypal icon here. We suggest that you also send us an e-mail to ensure that your transaction has been processed properly.

New Page Alert

Many of our readers like to know what projects on which HBC is currently working. The $10 annual contribution fee includes a complimentary new page alert service. Just let us know if you are interested and we will notify you by e-mail when we create a new page or add to an existing page. There is no aditional charge for this service.

Material Contributions

We also hope that our readers will also contribute to building HBRC with any information about royalty that they may have learned in their hidstorical readings. While we have collected considerable information, there are still a large number of royals that we have not yet begun to research.
