There was also a Scout troop sponsored by the school. We note some boys weaing their Scout uniform instead of the the school uniform. The Scout troop is much smaller than the Cadet Group. Only a few boys wear their Scout uniform. We suspect that many boys were Scouts, but did not wear their uniform for the portrait. None of the junior boys are wearing their Cub uniforms. I'm not sure why that was. Some of the younger boys would have been Cubs as some were still 11-years old, but most of the boys would hgave been old ebough for Scouts. A reader writes, "Things may have changed from when this picture was taken to when I became a cub in 1977, but by 1997 cubs ended at age 10 1/2 and boys moved on to scouts at that age." We suspect that a few boys might have still been Cubs, but not very many. A former student tells us, The school (now Farnham Sixth Form College) was not a large one. The Scout troop was therefore comparatively limited in numbers. There was no separate Cub Scout pack." A former student tells us that the Scouts wore, "khaki shorts with a matching short sleeved shirt, long knee socks, a troop scarf and green beret".
