U.S. School Clothes: Fulton School (Ohio)

Figure 1.-- This is the school located in Fulton, Ohio. The photograph was taken in 1917. The girls all wear dresses, but without pinafores. White or light-colored dresses were popular. Most of the dresses seem very plain. There are several hair bows. The boys wear mostly blouses without bows along with knee pants and knickers, although most of the boys are in the back rows where it is difficult to see what they are wearing. One boy wears a heavy roll-colar sweater. None of the boys are wearing overalls. All the children seem to be wearing long-black stockings.
