Spanish School Smocks: Regulations

Figure 1.--

Spanish schools very as to the regulations concerning smocks and school uniforms. The most common such regulation concerns school smocks. We notice that smocks were common in some countries, but often there wa no uniform smock. This was the general pattern in France. Other counties required smocks and had a uniform style. This was the general pattern in Italy. Spanish schools appear to primarily require that a smock be worn and that it be a uniform style. Unlike Italy, however, there is no single national style. Rather ech indiviidual school appears to decide on the speicific rules. This means, "Smocks are required by the public, private [concertadas?], and elite private schools. There are sime schools, especially the elite public schools, that instead of smocks require the students to wear English style school uniforms. Each school has internal rules hat specify: the ages of the children that have to waer smocks, the style of the smock, ct. The rules specufy the style of the smock that the boys have to wear ad the style the girls hve to ear. If the students also have to wear uniforms the details are lso specified." Here I think that schools with uniforms do not require that smocks be worn over those uniforms.
